WALK 4 WILDLIFE (“W4W”)
W4W IS ONE OF A SERIES OF EVENTS THAT WILL RAISE AWARENESS AND FUNDS TO HELP SAVE SEVERAL ENDANGERD WILDLIFE SPECIES FROM EXTINCTION.
W4W is a 105 kms walk (held over 3 concurrent Sundays later this year) from The Spit on the Gold Coast in Qld to Byron Bay in NSW. It’s mostly along the beach and will be led by the Koala Krusader. The Sunday dates on which the Walk is to be held will be announced shortly.
REGISTER YOUR INTEREST
If you’d like to walk with the Koala Krusader please Register Your Interest by emailing Peter on the email shown below or calling him on his mobile phone number. You may choose the distance and the day/days you’ll walk. Peter will explain it all to you.
THE PURPOSE OF W4W:
- Raise awareness that Australia’s koalas are endangered – their population down from about 8,000,000 to an estimated 40,000 – and continuing to be wiped out at an alarming rate.
- Raise funds to pay off the mortgage on 411 acres (166 hectares) of land and convert the land into a safe permanent sanctuary for koalas and other species of endangered Australian wildlife. – The Boorabee Park Wildlife Sanctuary.
Take on the personal challenge, join the Koala Krusader, walk with him and help raise awareness about our endangered koalas and raise funds to help save them from extinction.
You may like to form a team from work or with your friends.
You don’t need to walk the whole distance – you may walk any distance you choose and retire from the Walk when you decide.
You don’t need to walk every day of the Walk – simply choose the date that suits you and start at 7am or 12 noon on that date from the Designated Starting Point. There is an Entry Fee payable prior to walking. Peter will provide you with details of the Entry Fee payable. The proceeds from the Entry Fee are used to create awareness about the plight of our endangered koala and/or is used to help pay off the land that forms the Boorabee Park Wildlife Sanctuary.
A team may wish to do the whole Walk as a relay.
